Twenty five metres of water running down a colonnade clad in textured Vicenza stone, with loungers and cabanas along the edge, and it is one of the very few rooms in London built to be looked at as much as swum in. The house ties the stone back to Palladio, which is the sort of claim a hotel makes, and in this case the room more or less earns it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe verdict\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eBvlgari Hotel London opened in 2012 and it is worth saying plainly that the building is new, because most of the great London hotel spas are conversions and this one is not. ACPV Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel were given free rein on a Knightsbridge site a minute from Harrods and on the edge of Hyde Park, and rather than borrow a period the practice built something recognisably Italian and contemporary, in onyx, oak and Vicenza stone, and put the spa across two storeys of it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThat freedom shows in the proportions. A spa retrofitted into an existing basement takes whatever headroom it is given, whereas here the pool hall was drawn first and everything else arranged around it, which is why the colonnade reads as architecture rather than decoration. The hotel's own membership brochure calls the complex tranquil, spacious and blissfully uncrowded, and uncrowded is the word doing the real work, because it is what most Knightsbridge basements cannot promise.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBeside the long pool sits the vitality pool, and this is where the Bvlgari instinct comes out properly, because it is finished in tiny tiles of gold leaf glass and the house cheerfully compares it to the Byzantine mosaics of Venice and Ravenna. Six jets work the body while the light comes off the gold in a way that is frankly a bit much and entirely the point. A jeweller built this hotel and the spa is allowed to remember that.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat has changed lately is the direction of the menu. The house now describes the spa as focused on recovery, sleep and longevity, and it has added a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a Zerobody dry float bed, a Recovery Suite with a Brass Monkey ice bath, and a studio for group classes. Workshop Gymnasium runs the fitness and recovery side, built on an assessment they call Framework, and Swiss longevity brand LOYA took a pop up suite here in July 2026. It is a serious pivot away from the beauty led hotel spa of ten years ago and towards something closer to a clinic with very good tiling.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe one thing to square before booking is that access is bought rather than granted, and the threshold is high. This is a spa that opens itself on spend, and the number is £300.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe water\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pool runs twenty five metres over three lanes, so it is a genuine swim rather than a decorative one, and the colonnade means the light and the sound both behave oddly in the best way, arriving a little late and a little softened off all that stone. Loungers and cabanas sit along the water for afterwards. Children of hotel guests have the pool between eight and ten in the morning and again between four and six, which means the quiet stretches are the ones in between and the last two hours of the evening.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe vitality pool is the other piece of water and it is worth the time, six jets and gold leaf glass and warm enough to sit in for a while. The heat itself is short: a sauna, a steam room and an ice fountain for the cold, and that is the shared circuit in full. The membership brochure says saunas in the plural without naming a second cabin or a type, so treat one sauna as what you are guaranteed. There is no hammam, no salt room and no snow room, and nothing at all outdoors.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Recovery Suite is the newer and more interesting piece of cold, pairing sauna with a Brass Monkey ice bath and breathing work under a Workshop trainer for thirty minutes, and because it is trainer led it is booked rather than wandered into, at £85 or folded into the longer journeys. A relaxation room with a fireplace sits alongside all of it, which is a small and very Italian idea and better than the usual row of loungers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eTreatments\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwelve treatment spaces is a lot, being eleven single rooms plus the private suite, and the menu spreads across them rather than concentrating.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSkin is where the depth is. Augustinus Bader has an exclusive Bvlgari facial here, running from an hour up to two, and 111SKIN brings its clinic side, founded and curated by the cosmetic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides, with the Celestial Black Diamond lift as the headline. Swiss Perfection does the cellular work at the top of the price list. The Advanced Clinic handles the non surgical end, being the Mesolift, microneedling, radio frequency, cryotherapy and LED, priced in courses as well as singles for anyone treating it as a programme rather than a treat.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bodywork is unusually well staffed for a hotel and it is the quiet strength of the place. Enrico Di Candia is a British School of Osteopathy graduate with eighteen years behind him, offering visceral and cranial osteopathy alongside medical acupuncture, and Heshmat Nasiri is a registered physiotherapist with twenty years in musculoskeletal and neurological work. Marzena Zawadzka does deep tissue and myofascial release, and Deborah Rose brings the Ayurvedic side through Mauli. Add shiatsu, cranio massage and reflexology and the menu treats bodies as well as faces, which a lot of spas at this price do not bother with. Mothers to be are properly looked after, with treatments written for expectant and nursing women.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Bvlgari Gems are the house programmes, seven of them at a hundred and twenty or a hundred and fifty minutes, each ending with the fresh fruit of the day and a glass of champagne in the relaxation area. Above those sit the three journeys, Recovery at £400, Sleep at £460 and Longevity at £820, and above those RECOVER, REST, RESET, a two day programme from £995 with an overnight stay arranged on request. Prices for the Gems differ between the booking engine, the 2026 menu and the gift voucher site, so it is worth confirming the figure when you book.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eGetting in\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnyone can book. Treatments go through the spa's own booking engine, or by email, or on +44 (0)20 7151 1055, and everything is paid in advance. What there is not is a way to simply buy the facilities, because no day pass exists at any price.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInstead the water is gated on spend. A treatment over £300 opens the sauna, the steam room, the ice fountain, the pool, the vitality pool and the changing and relaxation areas. A treatment under £300, beauty appointments aside, opens the changing rooms and the relaxation area before and after, and nothing else, so the £85 dry float will not put you in the pool. The cheapest published route that explicitly carries full facility access is the Thermal Activation Reset Ritual at £298 a head, with the Ruby programme at £300 close behind it, and those two are the sensible way in for a first visit. There is also a one day Bvlgari Spa Day Membership at £500 that includes lunch in The Bvlgari Lounge.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBeyond that it is annual membership, published openly and priced accordingly, from £6,000 for swimming alone up to £9,000 for the full spa and £18,000 across three years, with joint rates above those and guest passes attached to every tier. It is over 16s throughout, apart from the children's swimming hours. Arrive up to an hour early, which the house recommends and which is the only way to get value from the facilities you have just unlocked. Cancelling inside twenty four hours is charged in full.
