Two full, separate circuits of hammam, laconium and sauna, one for each gender, plus a rare Watsu pool.
Best forSpa lovers wanting a full, doubled thermal circuit, Watsu and aquatic bodywork fans, Skincare devotees chasing the newest brands, Paris city breaks with real intent behind the spa
The one thing
Most Paris hotel spas ask every guest to share one hammam and one sauna between whoever has booked in that day. Le Royal Monceau did the opposite and built two of everything, a complete, separate circuit for men and for women, with a rare Watsu pool anchoring the whole experience at its centre. It is one of the only spas in the city taking a proper hydrothermal journey this seriously, and that alone earns it a place on this list.
The verdict
Philippe Starck rebuilt this hotel from the lobby up, and the spa reads like the rest of the Royal Monceau does, confident, a little theatrical, and entirely unbothered by anyone else's idea of a Parisian Palace. Where its neighbours on Avenue Montaigne and Place Vendôme tend to add a treatment room or two to a beautiful hotel and call it a spa, this one was built as a destination in its own right, 1,500 square metres given over properly to water and heat rather than squeezed into whatever space was left over, and it carries two Michelin Keys and its own Michelin starred restaurant, Il Carpaccio, so the spa is one part of a hotel that is taken seriously across the board rather than the single reason to visit.
The skincare roster has turned over fast and on purpose. Dr Barbara Sturm, 111SKIN and Nooance all arrived together in a relaunch, and the newest name, Dimple Amani, landed as recently as September 2026, each one brought in as a named exclusive or near exclusive rather than left to sit quietly on a product shelf. The spa itself calls its Sturm partnership Paris's exclusive destination for her signature rituals, and press coverage of the Dimple Amani arrival says much the same, so take both as the hotel's own confidence rather than as a confirmed, independent fact, though either way it means the menu here is genuinely current rather than frozen in whichever decade the spa first opened.
This is a spa for someone who wants Paris at its most considered, a thermal journey built properly rather than apologetically, treatments from brands moving fast enough to matter, and a hotel that treats its spa as seriously as it treats the private art collection hung throughout its public rooms, which runs past three hundred pieces and is saying something about how this place sees itself.
The water
The circuit doubles everything that most Paris hotel spas only manage once. Step through from the changing rooms and there are two hammams, two laconiums and two saunas, a full, separate set for each gender rather than one shared room with a timetable pinned to the door, so nobody is counting down the minutes until their turn. The 23 metre pool at the centre of it all is long enough to swim proper lengths rather than simply wade across, lit in the same white on white Starck scheme that runs through the rest of the hotel, so the water itself feels designed rather than just plumbed in.
Beyond the usual heat and steam, there is a Watsu pool, where a therapist holds and moves you through warm water in long, slow stretches, somewhere between a massage and being rocked, and it is rare enough among Paris hotel spas that it is worth building a visit around on its own. The women's section carries a cold plunge and an ice fountain to close the loop after the heat, the sharp drop in temperature that a thermal journey needs to actually feel finished rather than just warm.
Treatments
The menu leans on two kinds of guest: the one who wants a fast, serious result between meetings, and the one who has booked the whole afternoon on purpose. 111SKIN's Black Diamond Ritual and Dr Barbara Sturm's own named ritual here both run to eighty minutes and both work across face and body, built for someone who wants a visible, considered result rather than a quick buff and polish, and Sturm's begins with a proper consultation rather than a standard script. Nooance brings LED light therapy into its own protocols for guests who want the technology layered on top of the hands-on work. The newest arrival, Dimple Amani, mixes Ayurvedic technique with Brazilian lymphatic drainage and traditional gua sha for face and body sculpting, taught to the therapists here directly by its creator rather than learned from a manual, which matters more than it sounds.
Two fitness studios sit alongside a dedicated Pilates room with Reformer and Cadillac equipment, so a morning workout can run straight into the thermal circuit without changing buildings, and the duo treatment room means two people booked in on purpose rather than squeezed into a space built for one.
Getting in
People who are not staying at the hotel can book both the treatments and the wider spa, usually as a package that pairs a facial or massage with time in the pool, hammam, sauna and the rest of the circuit. The spa and pool run from half past six in the morning to ten at night, with treatments bookable between ten and nine. The hotel sits in the eighth arrondissement near the Arc de Triomphe, around forty five minutes from either Charles de Gaulle or Orly, and fifteen to twenty minutes from Gare du Nord, so it works equally well as an airport first stop or a city break base. Gift cards are available for anyone who wants to send someone else here instead.
What to know before you fall in love
The gym runs around the clock, but only by request, so a late night or early morning session needs arranging rather than simply turning up. Spa access on its own, with no treatment attached, works best booked as part of a package rather than as a straightforward walk in day pass, so build the visit around a facial or massage rather than expecting to pay at the door for the pool alone. And the spa's own introduction promises four fitness rooms while its own facilities list gives a smaller, more specific figure, so plan around that lower number rather than the headline one.
Best for
Best for a spa lover who wants Paris treated with real intent rather than as a hotel afterthought, who would rather spend an unhurried few hours properly in heat and water than fit in a quick massage between sightseeing, and anyone who likes watching a skincare menu move as fast as the city around it.
