Cashel Palace was commissioned by the Magnier family as a purpose built spa within a much older estate, a restored 1732 Palladian manor that once housed the Church of Ireland Archbishops of Cashel and was designed by the architect Edward Lovett Pearce. The house reopened in 2022 after an extensive restoration, and it now holds two Michelin Keys and a place among the Relais and Chateaux, with the Bishop's Buttery inside earning a Michelin star for three years running. Cashel is a heritage town in its own right, and the hotel stands on its Main Street at the foot of the Rock of Cashel, the fifth century ecclesiastical site that gives the town its name. General opening hours are not published anywhere on the property's own site, so it is worth calling ahead if you are planning a visit around a particular time. Shannon Airport is the closest, at around an hour and ten minutes away, with Cork a little further and Dublin the furthest of the three.
